KVC alleges violation of status quo

Kiyevi Village Council (KVC) has alleged that some intruders under the shelter of security forces have been illegally constructing houses and undertaking agricultural activities in the disputed area on daily basis.

In a press note, KVC chairman Akato Zhimomi and Head GB Botovi Zhimomi said that the council was constrained to issue this statement in view of the total violation of government standing order to maintain status quo by all parties, till the case was settled amicably and in compliance of the order/directives issued by the government. It said that KVC, GBs and bonafied residents of Kiyevi village had been maintaining status quo till date.

KVC said that it had on several occasions intimated the concerned authorities about the violation of status quo. However, KVC said no action had been taken against the miscreants and no steps had been taken to amicably settle the matter, due to which Kiyevi villagers have been undergoing untold hardship as the villagers were unable to carry out cultivation in the agricultural land for livelihood.

In this regard, KVC said that the council, GBs and villagers have no option left but to undertake agricultural activities. In the event of any untoward incidents, KVC said that the state government would be held responsible.
