KVC reaffirmsresolution on ULB issue

Kohima Village Council (KVC) has reaffirmed to uphold the March 15, 2023 “KVC Resolution” pertaining to the Urban Local Body (ULB) election.
In a press note, KVC vice chairman Zeneizo Rutsa and general secretary Vezonyü Kelio said the resolution was adopted at KVC general meeting held on April 15, wherein matters with regard to ULB elections to three municipals and 36 town councils in Nagaland were deliberated.
The house also resolved to firmly support and uphold the APO executive meeting resolution passed on April 11, 2023.
Further, KVC acknowledged the “matured wisdom and decision” of the state government to postpone the proposed ULB election and repealing Nagaland Municipal Act 2001. The council appreciated
state government under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for “giving attention and keeping the voice and aspiration of the Nagas on top priority.”
