KVC reiterates ban on hunting, firecrackers

Kohima Village Council (KVC) has reiterated on the banned imposed under its jurisdiction such as burning of natural forest, hunting, fishing, destruction of flora and fauna and explosion of any fire cracker.


In a press release, KVC press and media secretary, Thejao Sekhose informed that the adopted resolution has been strictly implemented and was in full adherence. However, the council has been receiving numerous complaints that non-residents or citizens of Kohima village were “loitering” in the prohibited areas.


In this connection, KVC has appealed to the citizens of Kohima to refrain from indulging in such activities. Further, KVC cautioned that after this “public appeal” any person found trying to violate the resolution will be strictly dealt and will be penalised. Meanwhile, KVC has informed the citizens that bursting of any kind of fire crackers have been banned under its jurisdiction and therefore cautioned that strict action will be initiated against the defaulters.
