ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren organised training and input distribution programme at Jalukie town on July 14.
A press release by KVK Peren stated that, Dr. L Babita Devi, in-charge head gave an awareness lecture on the importance of maintaining COVID-19 protocols. She elaborated about the importance of scientific management and use of improved germplasm of livestock rearing with special reference to piggery, poultry and rabbit. Participants were addressed in detail about housing and feeding management and importance of deworming and vaccination in livestock rearing.
ACTO, S/Sc Z James Kikon advised participants to work sincerely in the field of agriculture as well as animal husbandry for livelihood even during the pandemic.
Earlier for demonstration, a total of 500 day old chicks (Vanaraja poultry birds), 14 crossbred piglets, 20 rabbits and animal feeds and medicines were distributed among 42 beneficiary farmers of Jalukie, Ngwalwa, Deukwaram Nkwareu and Mhainamshi villages of Peren district, Nagaland.
