KVK conducts training on natural farming

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur organised a one-day awareness-cum-training programme on Natural Farming Principles and Certification at Vidima village on April 17, under the Government of India’s intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilizers.
The programme aimed to promote bio-fertilizers, bio-agents and natural farming methods for sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture.
According to a press release from KVK Dimapur, the training was conducted by SMS (Agricultural Extension) Marneni Divya Sree, Programme Assistant Dr. Moanaro, and Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Dimapur, Dr. Phool Kumari. The experts emphasized reducing chemical inputs and encouraged adoption of bio-fertilizers and natural farming to improve soil health and crop productivity.
The release informed that the training programme would continue throughout the Kharif season as part of a focused campaign, with KVK Dimapur implementing the initiative in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) to address soil health challenges and promote environmentally safe farming practices.
Bio-fertilizers and vegetable seed kits were also distributed among participating farmers to support immediate adoption.
