KVK Dimapur conducts trainings on natural farming

The office of the District Agriculture Office (DAO), Dimapur under the department of agriculture, Government of Nagaland organised one-day training programme on natural farming in two phases for farmers at KVK Dimapur, Jharnapani on February 2, 3 and 9 in three batches under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare through MANAGE Hyderabad and SAMETI Medziphema, Nagaland.
The resource persons were SMS/ACTO (plant protection), E. Lireni Kikon and TO of KVK Dimapur, Dr. Moanaro.
The participants were introduced to the concept and principles of natural farming and components such as Jeevamrit, Beejamrit and other indigenous bio-inputs using locally available materials were explained.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 250 farmers from Phuhoto, Shitoi, Sunito and Tokhuga villages under DAO Dimapur.
The office of the District Agriculture Office, Dimapur under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare through MANAGE Hyderabad and SAMETI Medziphema, Nagaland also organised a one-day cluster level training programme on natural farming.
The trainings were held in two phases on January 20 and 28 at Phuhoto-Shitoi and Sunito –Tokugha Cluster and focused on building awareness and practical skills to encourage the adoption of chemical-free farming practices.
The training witnessed participation from 250 farmers, including progressive growers, and community representatives.
