KVK holds input distribution programme

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaland University, Zunheboto conducted Input Distribution Programme on September 1 at Lotsu village under Sanis Block, and Renthan village under Bhandari Block, Wokha, sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi.


The programme was carried out with an objective to improve socio-economic condition of farming communities.
A press release by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Zunheboto, Nagaland University, stated that farmers were trained on poultry production and management by principal scientist and head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Zunheboto, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia.


Farmers were also trained on areca nut cultivation and management with special emphasis on different types of pest affecting the areca nut and other major crops by chief technical officer, plant protection, Wapangtoshi Longkumer.


A total of 96 farmers from Lotsu village were provided with 2000 areca nut, 1000 Rainbow rooster along with bio pesticides and fertilizers, while a total of 40 farmers from Renthan village were provided with 1000 areca nut saplings and 500 rainbow rooster poultry birds.
