
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kiphire, ICAR for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre celebrated Kisan Diwas-&-demonstration at DAO, Kiphire conference hall in collaboration with DAO, Kiphire, ATMA, Kiphire and NEIDA Kiphire during the occasion of Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan-2 (KKA-2) on December 23.
A press release from KVK (ICAR) Kiphire stated that representing the district administration, Chenithung Ovung, EAC, who was the special guest appreciated the organizers for taking up various programs for the benefit of farmers of the district. He also urged the farmers to cooperate with the departments so as to ensure success of these programs.
Dr. N. Khumdemo Ezung, senior scientist and head (i/c), KVK, Kiphire in his address said that the program was organized especially to celebrate farmers of the country and their contribution to agriculture. He reported that the KKA was implemented in selected 25 villages where all agri and allied departments worked in coordination to achieve the action plan formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India.
During the technical session, Dr. N. Khumdemo Ezung deliberated in detail cropping practices with special emphasis on integrated farming systems. Mosa Yinchunger, NEIDA spoke in detail about the benefits, maintenance and installation of drip irrigation systems.
During the program, 20000 large cardamom saplings and 500 packets of biofertilizers were also distributed by the special guest. Altogether around 50 farmers participated in the program.
