KVK Kiphire organise training on Farm Act

KVK, Kiphire ICAR for NEH Region conducted training on diversified farming practices for doubling farmers’ income-cum-awareness programme on Farm Act at Nitoi, Phisami and Seyonchung villages from December 15 to 17.

A press release by KVK, Kiphire, senior scientist and HoD, Dr. N. K. Ezung stated that, the resource persons for the programme were Temjenna Jamir, SMS (agro meteorology), DAMU, KVK Kiphire, Sepila Sangtam, area co-ordinator, NRLM and Seroba Sangtam, HEA, DHO, Kiphire. Temjenna spoke on various IFS models and horticulture based farming system. 
Seroba emphasised on high value crops for obtaining higher income and the pests of horticultural crops and its management. Sepila Sangtam elaborated on value addition where she laid emphasis on processing fruits and vegetables for increasing income. 
Training was conducted as part of Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan-III activity in aspirational district. Altogether, 90 farmers attended the training.
