Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Aboi, Mon celebrated “World Soil Day” (WSD) under the theme “Be the solution to soil pollution” on December 5, attended by farmers from neighbouring villages like Ngangching, Langmeang, Chinglong and Aboi town.
A press release from in-charge senior scientist & head KVK Mon, Dr. Paihem Michui stated that the chief guest for the program SDO, PWD (NH) Aboi, Vantan, encouraged the farmers to maintain proper soil health by coordinating with KVK.
SMS (Soil Conservation), Imtinuksung highlighted the significance and objectives of World Soil Day, Soil Health Card and its various purposes. Film shows on various topics like Soil pollution, and Soil Health Management were also displayed to the gathering. The program was chaired by assistant chief technical officer (Animal Science), Dr. Paihem Michui, SMS (Agronomy), Puchono Kweho welcomed the gathering, while vote of thanks was proposed by technical officer (Computer), Kevi Medom. Soil Health Cards were distributed to the farmers of the covered villages. Altogether 95 participants attended the program.
