Krishi Vigyan Kendra Zunheboto, (KVK) Nagaland University conducted its 7th scientific advisory committee (SAC) meeting at Lumami on March18, under the chairmanship of vice chancellor, professor B. K Konwar of scientific advisory committee.
Dean SASRD welcomed the members and farmers. SMS (Horticulture), Edenly Chishi presented the annual report for the year 2015-16 while Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia presented the annual action plan for the year 2016 to 17.
The main objective of the SAC was to find out the agricultural technologies which was location specific and could be taken up by farmer to improve productivity.
Director research, HoDs of different departments from SASRD, scientists from ICAR Jharnapani, DSCO and ATMA PD and SMS of KVK participated in the programme.
Progressive farmers Zunheboto were also present and gave their valuable suggestions for improving productivity of crops and animals. Vice chancellor Nagaland University appealed all the stake holders to work hand in hand to improve the economic condition of farming community. Vote of thanks was delivered by senior scientist and head KVK, Zunheboto, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia.
