KVK organises training and demonstration

ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, Kerala in collaboration with KVK Dimapur, ICAR Nagaland centre, Medziphema conducted training-cum-demonstration programme on “hygienic handling and value addition of fish and fishery products” under NEH component from February 25 to 27 at KVK.

A press release from KVK Dimapur stated that, hands on training on fish filleting and preparation of fish pickle, fish cutlet, fish fillet and solar drying of processed fish were demonstrated by Dr. Sajesh V.K., scientist (agri. extension), extension information and statistics division, along with the senior technical assistant, Santhosh K.P. EIS division and K. Dinesh Prabhu, fish processing division, ICAR-CIFT.

Chief guest of the programme, Dr. D.J. Rajkhowa, joint director, ICAR Nagaland centre stressed on the importance and need of the hour for scientific fish production, processing and value addition in Nagaland. Dr. Sajesh highlighted on the technologies developed on quality system to ensure fish production, processing and consumption. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ch. Roben Singh i/c head, KVK Dimapur. Altogether, 27 farmers attended the training programme.
