KVK Peren under ICAR research complex for NER conducted field day at Angadwadi centre, Mhainamtsi on December 18 on “nutrition garden”. During the programme, Dr. KL Meena, principle scientist & head, KVK Peren advised Anganwadi workers to go for water harvesting so that even during dry season their nutrition garden could be maintained. Theme of field day was discussed by Dr. Patu K.Zeliang, SMS PBG.
During the programme, special guest, CDPO, Jalukie, Namhuheing said that maintaining a kitchen garden would not only help family members enjoy organic vegetables and fruits but also help them economically. During the feedback from participants, Angadwadi worker Ncineu shared how after receiving training from KVK Peren, four angadwadi centres decided to set up nutrition garden with the help of KVK.
Later, SMS A/Sc Dr. Babita spoke about various activities and programmes under KVK. Altogether, 30 participants attended the programme.
