The celebration for New India Movement 2017-2022: Sankalp Se Siddhi (Attainment through Resolve) organized by KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang was held at CKS hall, Tuensang on August 25, with deputy commissioner, L. Jamithung Lotha as the chief guest.
According to DIPR report, the chief guest highlighted the central government’s objective to develop India by developing the grass root section of the nation and apprised on the data of the most backward district of the nation which needs to be quickly facilitated so that they can grow together along with the rest of the nation.
He also exhorted the governmental officials to co-operate and work together so that every sector can be touched at the developmental level.
Lotha also encouraged all the stakeholders and NGOs to set achievable targets so that the production level will increase.
The “seven point strategies for Sankalp Se Siddhi” was also read out by all the agri & allied departments along with the banking institutions which included veterinary and animal husbandry, irrigation & flood control, agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, fishery, forestry and SBI, Tuensang.
Inspirational documentary videos were also screened for the farmers present at the programme.
KVK Wokha: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Wokha celebrated the day on August 28 in the conference hall of KVK, Wokha.
Chief guest of the programme, SDO civil Wokha, Lanusenla encouraged the farmers and advised them to diversify their crops for better income. She also held that all should not depend on government jobs but try to be venture out on their own with the knowledge gained from training programmes imparted by KVK and other agencies. She also read out a message sent in by the prime minister, which was followed by a pledge taken by participants.
Senior scientist & head, KVK Wokha, Dr. Santosh Kr. Baishya, welcomed the gathering of 106 farmers and 9 officials from various state departments and highlighted the importance of the programme.
Subject matter specialists of KVK Wokha, Megokhono Meyase, Dr. BL. Mhalo Tungoe and Dr. Sanjay Kr. Ray talked on the new technologies of protected cultivation, mushroom cultivation, apiculture, vermiculture, rainwater, etc for enhancing the income of the farmers. Project officer, DRDA, N. Ngullie and deputy director, agriculture, Benthungo Patton encouraged the farmers to be experts in agriculture through the knowledge gained during trainings. Chairman of Longsachung village, Yankhosao Ezung also appealed to all the farmers to take up new technologies as imparted by KVK for doubling their farm income.
Certificates of skill training on quality seed growers of 200 hours (25 days) were distributed to the successful trainees. The programme was followed by screening of a video film on “new kisan India”.
