Appealing for a stop on issue of tender permit for essential commodities to any individual or firm, Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) has “strongly insisted” on “open tendering system.”
In a press note, president KVYO, Medozhatuo Rutsa, and general secretary, Kezhalelie Keretsü, stated that the present coupon issuing system of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) could control and curb the price escalation and bring competition to the market. However, KVYO pointed out that the system could potentially raise monopoly which would allow an individual and firm to get maximum profit leaving the public to suffer thereby affecting the economy as well.
In this regard, KVYO requested the politicians not to recommend any such case of monopoly to KMC. Further, while extending full support to KMC, KVYO also stated that KMC should not in any case entertain the tender permit “because such practices would be boycotted at any cause.”
