KYO empowers community with sustainable skills

Kezieke Youth Organisation (KYO) organised an informative Oyster Mushroom Farming Programme at the Kezieke Community Building on Tuesday, drawing the participation of 38 community members, with women showing notable enthusiasm for sustainable agricultural practices.
The programme was chaired by KYO general secretary, Neikhrietuo Albert, who conducted the proceedings. The event began with an invocation by Teisovilie Rio, vice chairman of the Kezieke Welfare Board (KWB), setting a reflective tone for the gathering.
Delivering greetings, KYO president Lhoulaneituo Pienyü underscored the importance of skill-based initiatives in empowering youth. KWB vice chairman, Tseilievinuo Sale, encouraged the community to embrace innovative and income-generating activities such as mushroom farming.
The training session was led by KYO vice president, Medokhriezo Marcus Kengurüse, who shared practical techniques and insights into oyster mushroom cultivation, highlighting its potential for small-scale entrepreneurship. The interactive session enabled participants to exchange ideas and engage actively with the resource person.
The initiative reflects KYO’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities and empowering youth through practical knowledge and community participation.
