KYO fetes achievements of two Nagaland shooters

DIMAPUR, NOV 25 (NPN)

The Khuzama Youth Organization (KYO) has congratulated two marksmen from Khuzama village under Kohima district — Dr. Kerhehol Kera and Kevipozu Hibo for their outstanding performances at national-level Benchrest shooting competitions.
At the All India 2nd Rimfire & Air Rifle Benchrest Shooting Championship held in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on October 11–12, Dr. Kera secured 4th position in the All India Ranking, while Hibo achieved 5th position. Both shooters excelled in the highly technical precision shooting discipline, which has been gaining popularity across the country.
Continuing their success, the duo won Silver medals at the 2nd National Air Rifle Benchrest Shooting Championship held in Karnataka from November 21–23.
Dr. Kera earned Silver representing the NorthEast India Team in the Man category, while Hibo claimed Silver representing the India Team in the Master category.
Their achievements have also earned them qualification to represent India at the International Benchrest Shooting Championship scheduled for June 2026 in Indonesia.
The accomplishments of Dr. Kera and Hibo mark a proud moment for Khuzama village and Nagaland, underscoring the state’s growing presence in precision shooting sports. The KYO extended its heartiest congratulations to the shooters and wished them success as they prepare for the upcoming international championship.
