KYO inaugurates ‘badze’

In commemoration of Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) 50th anniversary, KYO inaugurated its “badze” Saturday, which was graced by 13 former presidents of the organisation.

A press release by KYO stated that the ceremony commenced at Meraselieju with the hoisting of the KYO flag with “eight peer groups” followed by the lighting of a torch by the incumbent president.

The torch was then passed on by all the former presidents to its seniormost president, who then lit the “badze” cauldron as a symbol of transmitting unity and friendship for KYO golden jubilee celebration.
The event was blessed by pastors and catechists of Kiruphema village, invoking a sense of spirituality and tradition that underscored the importance of the occasion. Adding to the significance of the day, KYO also officially inaugurated its customary court and office.

The special guest of the inaugural programme, Neiyiezietuo Hesielie, highlighted the importance of the new facilities in the Peducha region under Kiruphema village.

KYO said the inauguration of “badze” and the new facilities symbolise the commitment to fostering community spirit, preserving cultural heritage, and ensuring the effective administration of the youth organisation’s activities.
