Keeping in view of its approaching golden jubilee celebration, Lotha Middle Range Baptist Church Women Department (KYOBEES) conducted mass social work in all the villages within its jurisdiction on January 19.
According to KYOBEES chairperson, Yilobeni Murry, the mass social was initiated by MLA, N. Thomas Lotha with an aim to foster unity and understanding among the women. During the social work, officials and representatives of 22 churches under KYOBEES cleaned the surrounding areas and approach road starting from Mekokla village to Pyotchu village. Thomas’s main objective of bringing together the women folk by organizing the social work was to create better understanding among them so that peace could prevail in the areas, said Yilobeni in a press statement. The MLA while stating that peace was pre-requisite for development urged the women folk to play active role in bringing unity among the villagers.
Thomas also donated Rs. 1.50 lakh to KYOBEES during the social work. KYBOEES also lauded Thomas for his cooperation and concern towards the women folk.
