KYU condemns attempt to murder

Kohima Yikhum Union (KYU) has vehemently condemned and expressed anguish over the heinous crime incident that took place at Doyang, Wokha on January 27 wherein member of NSCN (I-M), Mhabemo Mozhui attempted to murder innocent bona-fide members of Yikhum village namely Nyanbemo Kithan and Wochothung Odyuo.

In a condemnation note issued by KYU chairman stated that on learning the gravity of the incident, the union held an emergency meeting where the union in utter reference of the records known from reliable source asserted that the culprit have meted out a humiliating act against members of Yikhum village on past several occasions. The union fully endorsed and supported the resolutions and demands of the Yikhum Village Council for immediate termination of the culprit from national service and to bear all medical expenses that may incur towards the treatment of the victims. 
The union further appealed to all responsible citizens and organizations to condemn such crime at this juncture when Naga people are yearning for peaceful co-existence.
