Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) minister P Paiwang Konyak has alleged that land owners setting preconditions for parting with their land had become a hurdle for the government to develop any project within stipulated time.
The minister, who was on the second phase of his statewide tour as a part of the “Viksit Nagaland for Viksit Bharat”, stated this on Tuesday during his visit to the Community Health Centre (CHC) building that was recently upgraded at Satakha in Zunheboto district.
Post inspection of the CHC building, he urged the land owners to consider donating land for construction of hospitals as a noble act of humanity and selflessness.
Reiterating his commitment to fully develop the CHC, he sought cooperation from the land owners and the citizens, stating that once the CHC infrastructure was fully completed, it could become a model CHC.
He further assured that once the CHC was made fully functional, the strength of health workers would be strengthened.
Paiwang urged civil society leaders to guide the citizens to get registered with Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and Ayushman Bharat ensuring that no individual was deprived of free access to healthcare.
He said closure of pharmacies that did not possess legal documents or were being operated by unqualified pharmacies would continue as per the law.
He urged BJP workers of Zunheboto district to participate and continue to support the government in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Viksit Nagaland for Viksit Bharat”.
Paiwang planted a tree sapling at CHC, besides visiting Primary Health Centre (PHC), Satakha, interacting with the patients, and inspecting the drug store, laboratory, etc.
He also inspected the ongoing construction of District Hospital Zunheboto along with the local legislator and Food & Civil Supplies adviser KT Sukhalu.
The minister was accompanied by the H&FW secretary, principal director and a host of senior officials.
