Incessant heavy downpour on Thursday caused massive landslide in Alahuto colony resulted to roadblock at Alahuto colony road, which connects Shotomi village via Zunheboto-Aghunato highway route.
All vehicular movement came to standstill and even the pedestrians were disrupted for hours.
It was only after the intervention of Town Post company 5 AR jawans and their JCB/excavator, the road was cleared.
However, the rescue operation took around 5-6 hours since the massive landslide brought down huge boulders, logs, trees, muds and other debris etc.
Meantime, Alahuto Colony elders, GBs/Kükami and residents expressed gratitude to CO 5 AR Col’ Sachit Suri and jawans for the kind act.
It may be noted that Zunheboto district had been ravaged by landslide recently where loss of lives, animal livestock and damaged to properties, roads and bridges etc, were reported.
