Landslide near old KMC dumping site cleared

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, on Monday informed that traffic along NH-29 (Kohima-Dimapur) was open following a landslide that occurred earlier in the day at the Old KMC dumping site.

However, due to the road being reduced to mainly one-way access, traffic is expected to be slow. DC said that a college bus traveling on the affected road got stuck due to the landslide around 5 p.m. disrupting vehicular movement. The vehicle was later cleared around 7.30 p.m.

He assured that the district administration, along with highway engineers and traffic police, are working diligently to ensure smooth vehicle movement and address any citizens’ needs.
