DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, has issued a circular informing that a major landslide has been reported along the Changtongya–Longleng Road (NH 702) between Chainage 5+785 and 6+050, completely obstructing vehicular movement.
In the interest of public safety and to facilitate traffic, commuters have been advised to take the alternate route via Tangha-Kangching-Merangkong Road, which is presently motorable only for light vehicles. Heavy vehicles have been strictly advised to refrain from using the said route until further orders.
Restoration and clearance operations are being undertaken on priority by the concerned authorities to restore normal connectivity at the earliest.
