Late Khaplang’s wife dies

Chimroi, wife of late SS Khaplang, chairman/president NSCN/GPRN, passed away after a prolonged illness at her grandchildren’s residence in Myitkyina (Myanmar) on March 13, 2020. She was 72.

In a condolence message, NSCN/GPRN MIP in-charge ‘lt. col.’ Joseph Lamkang expressed deep sorrow over her sudden demise and said that “we will fondly remember and honour her dedication to the Naga nation.” MIP in-charge described late Chimroi as a “strong and dedicated woman” who was a pillar of support and inspiration to her husband and Naga national struggle for the last many decades.

Lamkang stated that “her dedication and sacrifices throughout the trying times will go a long way to benefit future Naga generation.” NSCN/GPRN has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that her soul rest in eternal peace with the Lord. 

ENSA: Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) has expressed grief over the sudden demise of Mrs. Chimroi, and said that her passing was a great loss to the “Naga nation”. In a condolence message, ENSA described late Chimroi as “one of the bravest women” who wholeheartedly and selflessly sacrificed and supported late leader for the cause of Naga Nation. ENSA prayed that the Almighty God console the bereaved family and rest her soul in eternal peace.
