A launching programme of Satsu farmers’ club-cum-awareness meet was conducted on September 26 at Satsu village, Mokokchung. The programme was supported by Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Mokokchung branch, State Bank of India, Mokokchung and Central Bank of India, Mokokchung branch under NABARD. During the programme, S. Amarjit Mangang informed the club members to act as a bridge between bankers/government officials and village people. He also told the club members to conduct regular meetings and inculcate saving habit and also use the credit support from banks judiciously.
Chief manager (Credit), RBO, SBI, Mokokchung, Lanu Imchen congratulated NABARD and farmers of the village for taking up the initiative of forming a club in the village. He advised the farmers to follow the principles laid down for farmers club by NABARD.
He informed that there were various agencies working for the development of farmers and rural population so the farmers should reach out to those agencies and work sincerely to make their village into a model village. Branch manager, NStCB, Mokokchung branch, Kikon advised the farmers to work with a motive to double their income. He informed the farmers that the main objective of a farmers club was for development through bank credit and to invest the credit from banks judiciously so that they could repay the loans on time.
