‘LaunchPad’ launched in Dimapur, Niuland

The department of Youth Resources and Sports (DoYR&S) in partnership with YouthNet supported by the Department of School Education (DoSE) on May 23 launched “LaunchPad”, a career guidance and employment skills development program, in Dimapur and Niuland districts.
In a press release, YouthNet informed that “LaunchPad” was launched for the academic year of 2022-23 in the districts with 73 students from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Purana Bazar and 32 students from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Niuland.
At the opening event held at GHSS Purana Bazar, director of youth resources and sports, Akumla Chuba highlighted the importance of “LaunchPad” in tackling the high unemployment rate in the state.
In Niuland, YRO of DoYR&S, Khriekethoii Kense mentioned the impact “LaunchPad” had the previous year with a total number of 3394 registering under “LaunchPad”, with 2646 students successfully starting the course.’
YouthNet informed that “LaunchPad” with its inception on 2020 has been “torchbearers” in offering career guidance explicitly to students pursuing their 12th standard, impacting all 44 Government Higher Secondary Schools across Nagaland. It informed that the program has 3394 students registered till date.
