Thousand of youths attended the special youth service on the concluding day of the Longsa Baptist Church (LBC) centenary celebration at Longsa village, Sunday.
According to LBC, speakers- Temjensangla NCS and Dr Awala Temshi, challenged the youths to be humble by receiving Lord Jesus Christ and glorify God through their thoughts, speeches and actions.
The special youth service was held at the Longsa Baptist Church as part of the centenary celebration of LBC.
Administrator, Temjensangla, spoke on the topic “Towards a new horizon”. While urging the youths to be like the character of Joseph, Temjensangla asked the youths to live humbly, fear the Lord and lead a life of integrity. She added that just like Joseph, if one leads a humble life and have faith in God, he or she would surely be rewarded. She also urged the youths to have a sense of humanity and “be truthful to God, truthful to oneself and truthful to one’s colleagues”.
Administrator of Straightway Christian Mission Centre, Dr Awala Temshi spoke on the topic, “Witnessing Christ in one’s own field”.
She pointed out that with the advancement in technology, the world was moving at a very pace rate, and during the process, majority of the people failed to maintain the relationship with God. In this regard, Dr. Awala urged the youths to be obedient and lead a clean lifestyle by maintaining a spiritual relationship with God.
Missionary Tiyong Longkumer offered a special dedicatory prayer on the Longsa village youths. Earlier, in the Sunday devotional service, the main speaker was Tsuknung, founder of Servanthood Bible College, Dimapur, who spoke on the theme of the centenary celebration, “Whetting the Kingdom of Light”. Longsa Baptist Church also adopted 3-point centenary resolution which was unanimously endorsed by Longsa citizens. Among the three resolutions, basing on this centenary celebration, the entire Longsa citizens resolved to join hands together and continue to undertake more vigorous on church missions. LBC also resolved to construct a commercial complex as a memorial of the first two converts from Longsa village – Repjenyuba and Sakusangba.
The construction work would be completed within five years, and all the income generated from this commercial building would be used for missionary works. LBC also resolved to donate Rs 2 Lakhs to the ABAM International Mission; Rs 5 Lakhs to Longsa Baptist Church and the remaining amount for the construction of “Repjenyuba & Sakusangba memorial commercial complex” from the remaining balance of LBC Centenary Fund.
