Farewell programme for Longjang village pastor Rev. L. Tarep, who retired after 50 years of pastoral service, was held at Longjang Baptist Church on January 10, 2016.
Born in Longjang village on September 5, 1939 to Limalemba and Nokdenchila, Rev. L. Tarep did his early studies at Impur High School.
He rendered his service as Pastor at his native village from January 1, 1966. On December 17, 1966 he married Talipokla Imchen at Longjang Baptist Church.
Rev. L. Tarep served as Pastor for 27 yrs at Longjang Baptist Church.
As needed by the Khaiamnuanguan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA), the Ao Baptist Church Council (ABAM) assigned him greater responsibility in sending him to render his service as executive secretary, Khaiamnuanguan Baptist Churches Association for 10 years (1992 March to 17th March 2002).
On returning to his native village, he again served as pastor at Longjang Baptist Church from May 10, 2002 and finally retired from the Pastoral service on January 10, 2016.
The day was indeed a remarkable coincidence for Rev. L. Tarep and his family for reaching the milestone of 50 yrs in God’s ministry and also the 50th Wedding anniversary.
The couple is blessed with three sons, one daughter and 10 grandchildren.
