LBCA ordains three pastors as Reverends

Staff ReporterDIMAPUR, OCT 5 (NPN)

Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) ordination board on Sunday held an ordination service at Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD), conferring the title of Reverend upon Dr. Yanbemo Lotha (Senior Associate Pastor), Lanlongo Yanthan (Associate Pastor), and K. Thenjamo Tsanglao (Associate Pastor).
The act of ordination was administered by LBCA president Rev. Ezanbemo Odyuo, who also led the priestly oath of allegiance for the newly ordained ministers.
Delivering the sermon, LBCA executive secretary Dr. Renbi Rengthang underscored the spiritual significance of ordination and anointing, drawing parallels from the lives of Peter and Moses. He reflected on Jesus’ reinstatement of Peter through a threefold affirmation of love (John 21:15–17), symbolizing forgiveness and renewed commitment, and urged the ordained to follow Christ without comparison. He also cited Moses’ failure to enter the Promised Land as a cautionary reminder of obedience and attentiveness to God’s word.
Dr. Renbi commended the ordained ministers for reaching a new milestone in their spiritual journey and exhorted them to carry out their responsibilities with humility, unity, and a heart devoted to healing and peace. He further encouraged their families to support the calling to ministry and uphold Christian virtues within their households.
Brief biographical notes of the ordained were presented by LBCD pastor Rev. Zanao Mozhui. Dr. Yanbemo Lotha joined LBCD as youth director on April 28, 1996, and was elevated to associate pastor in 2006. Lanlongo Yanthan joined as associate pastor on April 16, 2012, while K. Thenjamo Tsanglao entered the ministry on December 20, 2009.
The questioning of the candidates was conducted by Rev. R.P. Murry, Rev. O. Thungben Kikon, and Rev. A.K. Jami. Scripture reading was led by Rev. Nchibemo Shitiri.
The congregation was enthralled by a special number presented by the LBCD choir.
The programme, chaired by Rev. O. Thungben Kikon, chairman of the LBCA Ordination Board, began with an invocation by Rev. Abemo Patton, followed by an offertory prayer by Rev. Limhathung Lotha, and concluded with a benediction by Rev. Dr. Nzan Odyuo. The Lord’s Supper was administered by the newly ordained Reverends.
