Students of St. Paul School, Phesama, were trained on, ‘Leadership and Self Exploration’ by peace activist Susan Kulnu and student volunteer Elivi Swu of Don Bosco College Kohima June 1. According to a press release from Peace Channel desk, the programme began with an introduction and an ice breaking session initiated by the facilitator. 53 students and 1 animator teacher participated in the programme.
Addressing the students, peace activist Kulnu said leadership starts with beliefs and values and emphasized on the need for self-awareness to improve leadership qualities. She added students today needed leadership training like never before to improve life skills, such as; introspection, cultural sensitivity, moral acuity, people skills, and discussion skills. Kulnu opined self exploration leads to self discovery and right understanding, which in turn, helps in identifying and moving towards the holistic vision or the comprehensive human goal. She ended the session urging the students to appreciate their youth and not to rush to become an adult.
