Legal awareness camp under SAATHI campaign in Kiphire

Dimapur

Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and the Department of Economics and Statistics, organised the first legal awareness and outreach camp under the SAATHI Campaign 2025 on June 30 at District Court Complex, Kiphire.
According to DIPR report, SAATHI, which stands for Survey for Aadhaar and Access to Tracking & Holistic Inclusion, is a nationwide initiative of the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) aimed at identifying and supporting children in need of care and protection. It facilitates Aadhaar registration, school enrolment, access to welfare schemes, and legal assistance.
As part of the campaign, camps were also held at the ADC Office, Pungro Town. The camps focused on registering children under 18 years of age and issuing them Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, and permanent residential certificates.
According to officials, 85 children were registered for Aadhaar, 46 received birth certificates, and 39 were issued permanent residential certificates during the event. Parents, guardians, and community members from across the district actively participated.
The initiative was made possible through coordination between the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Department of Economics and Statistics, Aadhaar Enrolment Centre, and Kiphire DLSA. Organisers said the campaign aims to build an inclusive system that ensures vulnerable children are not left behind and that more such camps would follow.
