A Legal Services Clinic for defence personnel and ex-servicemen was inaugurated on July 26 at the Rajya Sainik Board (RSB), Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Resettlement, Kohima.
According to PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, the clinic set up under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, will provide free and competent legal services to serving and retired defence personnel and their families.
The launch coincided with the nationwide inauguration of “NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana – 2025”, held virtually from Srinagar by Justice Surya Kant, Supreme Court Judge and executive chairman of NALSA. Dignitaries from legal and defence services joined the event through video conference.
The clinic, established in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), will support Armed Forces families with legal help on pensions, service benefits, property rights and civil matters.
NSLSA member secretary Neiko Akami and other officials participated in the launch, which was also addressed by the director, RSB Kohima.
