DIMAPUR: With the directive of the KMC councilor of Ward no.16 Kohima Town, the Leriechazou Panchayat, along with colony youth and women organizations and GB conducted a surprise inspection of trade license and expired goods within its jurisdiction on August 1, and found that many shops were operating without Trade License.
In a press release issued by Leriechazou Panchayat Ward No. 16, Kohima chairman Petevilie Livi stated that the Panchayat has issued strong warning against the defaulters to comply with the KMC rules and regulations. In the course of the surprise inspection, the Panchayat has also confiscated expired food items, which were later disposed of responsibly.
Accordingly, the Panchayat also issued a final warning to the merchants emphasizing that subsequent failure to update/renew license and selling expired stocks will lead to permanent cancellation of business permits within the colony.
