
A one-day HIV & AIDS advocacy program was organized by Legislators’ Forum on AIDS (LFA) with Anderson Theological College and Church Leaders in partnership with Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Aizuto on January 31, at Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Aizuto.
LFA-Nagaland, state consultant, Dr. Vinito L. Chishi, in a press release reported that in the program, he gave a presentation on the HIV/AIDS scenario in Nagaland and shared concerns on increasing number of HIV infections in the State. He also gave a presentation on the roles and responsibility of the Church as relates to HIV/AIDS, and encouraged students who are preparing to enter the Christian Ministry, to make use of their leadership opportunity by taking positive initiatives to address the HIV/AIDS issue.
He asked them to help reduce stigma, discrimination and raise prevention awareness, and aim at creating an AIDS free generation in the days to come.
An LFA support staff at Cradle Ridge, Kohima also shared about her experiences with HIV positive children.
Altogether, 132 Church leaders and theological students were part of the program. The advocacy meeting was chaired by SBAK, Aizuto youth secretary, Inakhu Chishi.
