The group-stage encounters of the 15th Lotha Football Championship (LFC) 2026, organised by the Wokha District Football Association (WDFA), continued to thrill fans on Day 4 (Saturday) at the Wokha local ground, as Old Changsu FC, Nitsuyan FC, Friends Club and NRFC secured crucial victories.
Old Changsu FC produced the most dominant performance of the day, cruising to a 6–0 win over Emirates FC in the tournament’s 10th match. Ekonthung Kithan (Jersey No. 12) opened the scoring in the 5th minute, before Lavanthung Kithan (Jersey No. 7) stole the show with four goals in the 30th, 40th, 46th and 53rd minutes. Hathungo (Jersey No. 13) sealed the emphatic win with a strike in the 65th minute.
In the 11th match, Nitsuyan FC edged past Tsumang FC 2–0, courtesy of a brace from Yiben Ezung (Jersey No. 9), who found the net in the 19th and 41st minutes.
Friends Club registered a commanding 5–1 victory over Flamingo FC in the 12th match. Randanbemo (Jersey No. 4) struck in the 2nd minute, while Renjamo (Jersey No. 11) netted a hat-trick in the 31st, 37th and 41st minutes. Lirhonthung (Jersey No. 77) added another in the 54th minute. Flamingo FC managed a consolation through Nitova (Jersey No. 9) in the 42nd minute.
In the day’s final fixture, NRFC clinched a narrow 1–0 win over Star Madrid N. Colony, with Yanrenthung (Jersey No. 3) scoring the decisive goal in the 20th minute.
The group-stage matches will resume on February 2 with four fixtures: Star Madrid FC vs Nitsuyan FC (9 am, Group B), Emirates FC vs Friends Club (10:30 am, Group A), Airfield Colony FC vs Tsumang FC (12:30 pm, Group B), and Yon Sporting Club vs Old Changsu FC (2:00 pm, Group A).
