Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) has organised various activities such as model career service on February 24, held interaction with Royal Classes Dimapur and conducted talks on the importance of research in higher education on February 23 at the college premises.
A press release from LFI principal Dr. R. K. Behera informed that young professional of Model Career Centre under National Career Service, Yapangsangla Longkumer, visited Livingstone Foundation International College and had a direct interaction with all the students of the college. It may be mentioned that National Career Service is a Five-Year Mission Mode Project launched by the Prime Minister. The project is being implemented by the Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment.
Royal Classes, Dimapur visited the college on February 23. The center manager Sanjay Chakraborty and his team members Simran Thapa and Paban Dey had an interaction with the students related to career guidance for competitive exams like Banking SBI PO/Clerk, IBPS PO/ Clerk, NPSC, SSC CGL, railway, defence and other government jobs, etc.
They gave training to students so that they will be free of any distractions. The programme was attended by all the faculty members including the principal.
Meanwhile, the Journal and Research Committee of Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) conducted a talk on the importance of research in higher education with assistant professor department of History, Dr. Joseph Longkumer as the resource person.
Dr. Joseph stressed on the importance to pursue research to cope up with the rising trend in the field of artificial intelligence and various technological tools. He highlighted on the essential requirement of professional development programmes for the faculty. Longkumer also mentioned that insufficient financial support, ill equipped library, lack of interest, etc. are some of the lapses faced by most of the faculty in research domain. He encouraged the faculty to pursue further available online courses to learn/upgrade the skills from the conventional ways of conducting research. The programme was attended by all faculty members.
