The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has asserted that the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) lifestyle was unacceptable. Admitting that the council might have failed in its ministry to LGBTQ community, NBCC general secretary Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho however emphasised that the time had come to make the position lovingly and compassionately clear. He said that it was against God’s design for marriage as male and female, and against the teaching of the Bible and the belief of the Christian faith and practice.
