Lotha Hoho flays launchingof FHR construction

Lotha Hoho (LH) has condemned the launching of construction of Foot Hill Road at Khumjo Yan February 21, 2025 by M/S J.K Construction Co. and M/S Chabou & Co.

In a statement, LH chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung and joint secretary Limhathung Lotha said the launching event was against the will of the Tribal Apex organizations including Ao Senden, Sumi Hoho, Lotha Hoho.

As per the resolution adopted on January 16, 2025 meeting held at Mokokchung Ao Senden Ki, LH said those firms which refused to sign the implementation agreement with the NFHRCC, cannot be allowed to execute the contract work, as it has been the practice since 2013 when the foot hill road was conceived and work started.

LH said the tribal organizations have reason to insist on implementation agreement since many developmental projects have failed in Nagaland in the past in spite of official agreements signed. The hoho cited a few recent examples of such failures within Wokha district including Wokha-Merapani Road, Wokha Town Section of the NH 2 etc.

“Although the approaches may differ, it is envisaged that the target of the contending parties are the same: that is for good workmanship: as per the Project Report specifications,” LH said.

Therefore, the hoho said requested the parties to amicably come to terms with each other so the common target was achieved for the benefit of all concerned.

Further, it asked the firms which have so far refused to sign the implementation agreement with NFHRCC such as M/S JK Construction Co and M/S Chabou & Co. etc to execute the implementation agreement with the NFHRCC at an early date so as to enable early smooth implementation of the Road Project work.
