The Lotha Hoho (LH) has been entrusted to break the deadlock between the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) and some contractors under Baghty division over signing of the implementation agreement with the committee.
This was resolved in an emergency consultative meeting of three apex hohos— the Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho and Sumi Hoho — with the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee at Wokha town on Tuesday.
The meeting also gave the Lotha Hoho five days to ensure that the contractors sign the implementation agreement that was unconditionally endorsed by 12 apex tribal hohos.
In the event of the failure of the contractors to sign the implementation agreement put forward by the NFHRCC, the meeting said the resolution adopted by the three apex hohos on January 16, 2025 at Mokokchung would be unequivocally enforced and that pressure would be put on the department concerned to cancel the work orders.
Further, it was also resolved that during these five days, contractors who were yet to sign the implementation agreement with the NFHRCC would be advised not to start any work in the allocated project sites.
This was stated in a press statement by Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong, Lotha Hoho vice-chairman Mhathung Humtsoe and Sumi Hoho vice-president Otova Swu.
