Lakhuti Humtsoe Khumshum (LHK) conducted general meeting, medical camp, cultural extravaganza and fanfare on December 31, 2021 and January 1 at Humtso Khel, Lakhuti village, Wokha, under the theme “Sukhying Mha Sothe Khumshumta”.
A press release by LHK stated that on the first day, general meeting was held, wherein former MLA, Y Sulanthung Lotha, chaired the meeting which was attended by 200 members.
Welcome address was delivered by chairman, LHK, Dr. Stephen Humtsoe, and short speeches delivered by four units of LHK EH Lotha of Kohima, Pius Lotha of Dimapur, Titus Humtsoe of Wokha and Er. Simon Humtsoe of Baghty.
The release also added that marathon race was organized on December 31 under the theme “Run for common good” where three aged categories participated.
Transport commissioner, government of Nagaland, Elias T Lotha, enlightened the participants on how one should cultivate sense of common good towards building society and at the same time keeping oneself fit and healthy.
The clan was exhorted by commissioner secretary to the Government of Nagaland, K Libanthung Lotha, transport commissioner, Elias T Lotha, philanthropist & social worker, Dr. Roland Lotha and Sr. SDEO Wokha, A Mhathung Humtsoe.
A medical camp was also organized by a team of doctors led by Dr. William Humtsoe, Dr. Wilson Humtsoe, Dr.Thungbemo Humtsoe and Dr. Zulanthung Humtsoe.
On January 1, all male members of LHK adorned in traditional attires marched to Lakhuti public ground remembering their ancestors and sought blessings.
The oldest member of the clan (98 years) Khonsao Humtsoe blessed and prayed for God’s wisdom and good health for all clansmen.
Traditional song and dance competitions were conducted which was participated by five women groups from five khels.
The show culminated with the performance from the popular DGP band.
