Celebrating the liberation from the bondage of sin through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Lhothavi Village and Baptist Church celebrated its platinum jubilee today on the theme “Proclaim the liberty” with executive secretary of WSBAK Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi as speaker.
The celebration was of somber atmosphere as the members exalted the name of the Lord for His protection and blessings through the 75 years journey of the church and the village.
Speaking to the congregation, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi said celebration of jubilee should signify liberation through the power of God. More importantly, he said people should learn to forgive and forget the past rancor and strive to live in harmony, love, unity and peace. He asked the gathering to give praise to the Almighty for the journey of its village and church. The speaker also unveiled the jubilee monolith. The programme was also marked with special songs presented by the church choir and history of the village and church narrated by Zheyeli Tsuqu.
The programme was chaired by Ghoheto Zhimomi, while the welcome address was delivered by Rev. Aheto Sema, and scripture reading was led by Associate Women Pastor Lhonili Kiba. Special songs were presented by jubilee choir and benediction was said by the pastor Lhokheto Baptist Church, Khisukhe Achumi.
