Library and gym inaugurated in Songlhuh

A library and a gym were inaugurated at Songlhuh village on December 4.

Richard Singson of the Youth and Students Union Songlhuh, in a press release chose to identify the benefactor only as “Combat Hand” since the “Identity of the officer can’t be revealed due to security reasons and media policy”.

The benefactor dedicated a 746 book library, started a one year subscription of two newspapers for the library, and also donated music speakers and basic weight training equipment for the gym. “From now on Youths and Students of Songlhuh village can utilise and channelise their potential in right direction” the release said. 

The library and gym were inaugurated in the presence of GBs, chairman, VDP secretary, Youth & Students body and around 100 villagers.

The release reported that in the inauguration speech, the benefactor emphasized on judicial use of these two facilities by youth and students. He also urged parents to encourage their children to strike a  balance between learning and playing.

The village GB, chairman and VDP secretary hailed the efforts of the benefactor who, they said, was always ready to extend help to the people of the village. A word of thanks was delivered by the village pastor. Later, the Songlhuh Inter Ward Sports Meet was kicked off by the “combat hand”.
