As part of the ongoing Sekrenyi festival, Lidi Kro-u organised a one day training on “Traditional Skill and Knowledge” at Ziekezou, DBHSS, here on March 6.
Lidi Kro-u is a group of like-minded women from the four khels of Kohima village and the main motive of the training was to preserve, promote and educate the younger generation on weaving and usage of traditional items including shawls, headgears (tsüla). During the training skills on how to pound rice paddy in traditional style and use of “merha”(bamboo woven cleaning trays) while cleaning rice grains were imparted.
Lidi Kro-u informed that they would continue to impart such traditional skills, folklores, cultural songs and traditional practices to interested youngsters in the days to come.
