Likyaro Patton, a class-8 student of Hope Academy, won the 2nd Dorians Society Spell Bee competition, nailing the word “Fiasco” in the last round of the contest.
The competition organised by Dorians Society Saturday at Kingdom Culture Church, Tajen Ao Road, Dimapur saw a participation of 52 students of class 7 to class 9 from 27 government and private schools of Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts.
The second and third places were bagged by Shahnaz Ali, a class-9 student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, and Kowsara Begum, a class-8 student of Liz Woodland School. Patton took home Rs. 10,000 and a citation while Ali and Begum walked away with Rs. 5000 and Rs. 3000 and citations, respectively.
The competition was overseen by a panel of two judges and two pronouncers/moderators selected by the organising committee.
The organisers informed that the primary objective of the competition was to promote healthy competition among students and provide them with a platform to compete in bigger stages.
