Asish Limboo of Sikkim was crowned the Champion of Champions at the 2nd Mr Northeast Bodybuilding & Physique Championship 2026, winning a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. The championship was held at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, on Saturday.
The event brought together bodybuilders and physique athletes from across the Northeast, with competitors from Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim taking part in various categories.
Limboo also emerged winner in the 75 kg category before claiming the overall Champion of Champions title.
In the men’s bodybuilding events, Bhaskar Jyoti Das of Assam won the 55 kg category, followed by Kiojak Guha of Arunachal Pradesh in second and M Phimas of Manipur in third.
Worthan Lunglo of Manipur secured the top spot in the 60 kg category, with Bijoy Sarkar of Arunachal Pradesh and Lungreishum Kasar of Manipur finishing second and third respectively.
Mishap Khapai of Manipur won the 65 kg category, followed by Ashik Debbarma of Tripura in second and Hmangaihzuala of Mizoram in third.
In the 70 kg category, Pritam Nahakpam of Manipur emerged winner, while Wemu Tulang of Arunachal Pradesh and Thaichang K Marak of Meghalaya secured second and third positions respectively. Limboo topped the 75 kg category, followed by Tarh Peter of Arunachal Pradesh in second and Uttam Tripura of Tripura in third. Jeremy Lallawmzuala of Mizoram won the 80 kg and above category. Lalit Rai of Sikkim finished second and Vikash Chettri of Meghalaya third.
In Men’s Sports Physique, Daimalu Brahma of Arunachal Pradesh secured first position, followed by Surojit Das of Assam in second and Vekoto Nyekha of Nagaland in third.
In the Women’s Model Physique open category, Niamuamara of Arunachal Pradesh emerged winner, while Anita Chettri and Juma Basumatary, both of Sikkim, finished second and third respectively.
The championship was organised by the Nagaland Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (NBBFA) under the aegis of the Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (IBBFF) and the Northeast Bodybuilding Federation (NEBBF). Councillor of Ward 19, Kohima, Medoviu Martin Suohu, attended the event as the inaugural special guest, while IGP (Armed Battalion-NAP) Imnalensa, was the guest of honour.
