Lineman dies after electrocution in Dmu

In a shocking and tragic incident, a senior lineman of the power department  was electrocuted while on duty near Sub-Urban Police Station at Dr. Hokishe Sema road here on Friday.

When contacted, an official of the power department disclosed to Nagaland Post over phone that the victim was identified as Dinesh, aged around 52, from the Kachari community.

The official informed that the incident occurred at around 1 p.m. when the lineman had attempted to fix the line during load shedding in the area. 

It was disclosed that the lineman failed to inform the control room to shut down power supply while he was trying to repair the line. Tragically, the lineman was electrocuted  when the line was charged and died soon after, it was reported.

Meanwhile, commissioner of police Dimapur, R. Tetseo, said a case of unnatural death was registered with Sub-Urban Police Station and that  investigation was on.
