Lio Longidang organizes clean election awareness

Village council, church bodies, students union and youths of Lio Longidang jointly organized clean election awareness on December 21 under the theme “my vote for development” with director, Golden Crown Theological College, Rev. Dr. Nzan Odyuo as the main speaker.
According to DIPR report, the speaker urged the voters not to sell or indulge in purchasing votes in the coming election citing it was the root cause of all impasse in Nagaland. Rev. Dr. Nzan also said, one does not become anything by selling votes during election and therefore it was better if people could come together in stopping the evil menace of selling and buying votes and enjoy general development. 
The speaker further added the importance of maintaining Christian moral and ethical ways of life so as to receive God’s blessing, adding that selling one’s vote does not reflect true Christian way of life. Pastor, Chudi Baptist Church Association, Mhathung Lotha also delivered a powerful message inspiring the voters to vote for development and progress for general welfare.
The village council, church, student youth bodies and general populace of the village later took pledge not to sell their votes but to uphold clean election. Inspector, Taxes, Myingthungbemo Patton who chaired the event also exhorted the gathering to sincerely initiate, support and propagate cleaning election and be an ambassador for change in each and every nook and corner of Nagaland. 
Later as part of the clean election campaign, a Nagamese movie “Nana – a tale of us” was also screened.
