Lions Club Kohima installs new board for Lionistic Year 2026–27

DIMAPUR: The installation ceremony of the board of directors of Lions Club of Kohima for the Lionistic Year 2026-27 was held in the state capital on June 27.
The incoming board included president elect Talitemsu Jamir, secretary elect Max Marius Menuse O, treasurer elect Kaikho Dawman, first vice president elect Ketoukholie Whuorie and second vice president elect Akhrienuo Kire. The oath was administered by Lion Dr. Neena Dutta, District Governor (Elect), District 322D, who served as installation officer.
Addressing the gathering, Dutta emphasized the theme “Be the Crown of Service” with the vision “More Service, More Quality Members.” She reminded members that the crown symbolizes honor, responsibility and leadership, and in Lions Club, the highest honor lies not in power or position but in service. “The real crown is not made of gold, but of the good deeds we do for humanity,” she said, mentioning that true leadership is service marked by kindness, compassion and selfless giving.
Five time president of Lions Club Kohima, Oken Jeet Sandham, shared his experiences, read out the profile of the District Governor elect and later handed over the gavel and charge of the meeting to incoming president Talitemsu Jamir, who delivered his presidential address.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by S.P. Francis, flag salute was led by Rheituohunuo Whuorie, invocation was pronounced, and the secretary’s report was presented. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. B. Imli Wapang.
