Liyim FC lift 6th under-20 football tournament title

Liyim FC emerged as the champions of the 6th Under-20 Football Tournament organized by Patizung Sporting Club (PSC), held at Aohadang Ground, Borbora Ward, Tuli Town on Saturday.
In an intense final, Liyim FC edged past Twenty Streets FC in a tie-breaker, winning 7-6 on penalties after a closely contested match.
In the individual awards, Player of the Tournament was bagged by Waluba (Twenty Streets FC); Highest Goal Scorer by Aliba (Twenty Streets FC); Best Defender by Watitenzuk (Liyim FC);
Most Promising Player by Lihwang (Liyim FC); Best Goalkeeper by Ningsang (Liyim FC); Best Team by Patizung Sporting Club B Team.
The closing ceremony was graced by NPF 21 Tuli A/C president Meyitiba Longkumer and party workers as guest of honour. Addressing the gathering, Longkumer encouraged young players to maintain discipline and strive for higher levels of competition at the district and state levels. He also highlighted the growing opportunities in sports, citing platforms such as the Nagaland Super League, and urged players to develop determination and improve their football skills to take advantage of such avenues.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, PSC president Shiludi Longkumer lauded all participating teams for their discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. He further informed that the 7th edition of the tournament is scheduled to be held next month and encouraged more young players to participate.
The final match was officiated by Tiakumzuk Pongen, Imlitsungba and Nungsangchiba.
